Call me old fashioned...but I really enjoy making my daughters lunch. Even when its just PB&J I try to jazz it up a little. I recently made several batches of freezer jam. And sometimes we forget to pack the lunch until 10 seconds before walking out the door...don't judge...I know you have done it too. So I thought, what if I were to make and freeze my own PB&J's with my home jelly??? So I did and what a blessing! The first time I simply made about 20 sandwiches, used the peanut butter lid to cut them out buy just moving a little back and forth on the counter, then filling a freezer bag with them. In the morning I throw one in her little lunch box container with some snacks and off she goes!!! It really is a time saver to not have to get everything out every morning and clean up the drippy jelly and cut crusts. And I made little "Minis" also with a oil lid...she thought they were funny. This time I think I will venture to shapes. I hope she does not get all embarrassed...she is in sixth grade...a whole new realm of "things that embarrass kiddos" And I have no idea what that entails except anything to do with parents. Anywho..here goes...
Only put filling in the middle so the seal will work:)I had to use store bought jelly, because my family has gobbled up all the homemade I made a while back.
Use your favorite cookie cutters...
Press down hard to counter and move around in circles to help it go through.
I use the Peanut butter lid to make a BIG round..
Put in a freezer bag or container. I only made four, due to todays bread shortage in our house. I made homemade rolls again, instead of regular bread.
Freeze! Then on school morning put in lunch box!
Next up a picture of the home rolls I never got to you last week!
What a great idea! I know your daughter loved her little cut out sandwiches. Hi, I'm your newest follower from the Friday blog hop and I'm so glad I found your blog. I hope you get a chance to visit and follow my blog too. I'd like it if were got to be blogging buddies. Smiles. Thanks!
